Collaboration, Camaraderie, Commitment
These are the words that really capture what the Society for Pediatric Urgent Care (SPUC) is all about. What started as a simple weekly conference call among a handful of leaders in pediatric urgent care has grown into something truly amazing.
We knew we needed to collaborate because there had to be others out there with the same goals. We felt a strong sense of camaraderie (and sometimes, commiseration), knowing there were others facing the same challenges. We were all committed to pediatric urgent care, believing there were others just as dedicated.
These same words sum up my experience as a board member. Every cool thing SPUC does, from educational programs to leadership conferences, research projects to publications, starts in our board meetings. Working together has helped us grow and support all these initiatives.
Being on SPUC’s Board of Directors has been an incredible journey. I’ve expanded my professional network and connected with amazing leaders from all over the country. This experience has been a game-changer for my career, exposing me to new ideas and solutions that I can bring back to my own organization.
And honestly, there’s a huge sense of pride in seeing SPUC grow. It’s so rewarding to see us reach urgent care providers across the country, becoming a hub for ongoing research, education, and professional development. Together, we’re making a real difference in pediatric urgent care, and the future looks bright.
I hope you’ll consider becoming a board member and take the first step of submitting a Willingness To Serve application in July for the new three-year Board terms beginning November 2025. Questions are encouraged by contacting me or any Nominating Committee member: Susan John, Derrek Massanari or Usha Sathian.
