Little Spuds Pediatrics, PLLC
Professional Designation(s)/Title:
Doctor of Nursing Practice/Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner – Acute Care
How long have you been a member of SPUC?
Three years.
Why did you choose the Pediatric Urgent Care field?
I really enjoy caring for infants, children, and teens in urgent care because it allows me to help families get pediatric expert urgent care within my county.
Please list a few of your most recent accomplishments.
- 5/1/25: Started new position as per diem pediatric provider in the Randall Children’s Emergency Room in Portland, Oregon.
- 11/11/24: Opened and run Little Spuds Pediatrics, PLLC. Little Spuds is a cash only, mobile pediatric urgent care serving families in the Southwest Washington area, all 5 star reviews so far! Very proud of this because I am a mom of 3 school age kids and it’s important to me to show them that it’s possible to innovate new ways to bring services to smaller communities when resources are not otherwise very robust. Also, private practice has allowed me more flexibility as a working mom that I would likely not otherwise have in a full-time position within a large organization.
- 11/2022: Took agricultural classes through Washington State University and then opened a small flower farm, Ridge Petal Blooms, growing Spring peonies and Summer annuals. Completely different than medicine, but very fulfilling in a different way.
Why did you join SPUC?
To stay up to date on current pediatric urgent care practices, have access to current protocols, and have a network of other pediatric urgent care professionals to get support from.
Short Biography
After working as a pediatric nurse for 17 years I went back to school at Oregon Health and Science University, earned my MSN in 2020 and DNP in 2021 as a pediatric nurse practitioner. Upon graduation, I worked for about 1.5 years in pediatric pain management at Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, then worked pediatric urgent care at various pediatric clinics within the Portland, Oregon/Southwest Washington regions. In November 2024, I opened my own mobile pediatric urgent care, Little Spuds Pediatrics, PLLC. I also work per diem at Randall Children’s Hospital as a pediatric provider. Randall Children’s is part of the Legacy Health System in Portland, Oregon, and is a Level 1 trauma pediatric emergency room. My family and I live in Southwest Washington where I began a small scale flower farm, Ridge Petal Blooms in the Fall of 2022. I enjoy skiing, hiking, camping, fishing, cooking and just being with family.
