Spring 2026

Dealing with Winter Illnesses and the Annual Conference

Dr. Sathian

Greetings to all of you for 2026! We are in the throes of a robust winter, and busy dealing with the winter illnesses in our communities.

Children make up a fifth of the population in the US and we provide the necessary pediatric expertise for a significant number of them when they are unwell. SPUC brings us together, a collective of folks who aspire to promote evidence-based acute care for the kids we serve. Thank you to those that joined us March 11-14 in Seattle as we hosted yet another annual conference, filled with excellent educational content relevant to your daily practice, and a place to meet like-minded colleagues. We will share more soon!

SPUC has grown and continues to evolve. Over a decade ago, a group of seven spirited physicians from across the country banded together and envisioned this organization. I wish to complete my tenure as President with a dedication to the OG, Dr Peg Orcutt who brought us together on this journey to build a society dedicated to pediatric urgent care.

As a pediatrician, a parent and now a grandparent, I feel proud to be a small part of this landscape. It has been an honor to serve SPUC as a founding member and now as President. We have a lot of work to do, as we continue to promote excellence in care amidst a shifting landscape. Please get involved ,meet new people and get engaged in promoting and growing SPUC!
