SPUC celebrates its 10th year since inception, and this is a mile marker for a young organization like ours. Membership continues to grow, and SPUC offers a platform for connectivity, and for credible conversations around the practice of quality pediatric urgent care. Our 10th Annual conference was held in beautiful Norfolk, Virginia in April, and we welcomed a fascinating group of attendees for great networking opportunities, solid scientific content, and an informative tour of Institutional Host CHKD’s Pediatric Urgent Care department.
We continue to optimize the timing of the annual meeting, and despite the previous conference being held less than six months earlier, attendance was above what was expected. Founding members made SPUC possible, in the first place, and they were felicitated at the conference, even as they joined in person. Part of celebrating our Founding Members was a lively recounting of SPUC’s first alliance with our management firm, Ruggles Service Corporation, by SPUC’s Executive Director Stewart Hinckley. Ruggles is also marking a significant milestone this year – its 50th Anniversary of medical association partnership.
I thank all those of you who organized the event, and those who made it worthwhile by participating in the meetings and the social events around the conference.
We welcomed two new Board members, Drs. Deirdre Stewart and Jeffrey Seiden earlier this year.
We have opportunities to join committees and help elevate the relevance and value of SPUC. The biweekly webinars continue to be high quality educational offerings that are offered throughout the year; as a member, you are able to avail yourself of the content, live, or archived, for complimentary CME and MOC II credit.
I hope that you have a restful summer and find some meaningful time for YOU.
