Children’s National proudly offers a Pediatric Acute Care Fellowship, now entering its fifth year. Our fellowship is a one-year program designed for pediatricians who desire additional clinical and procedural training before joining academic or community emergency and acute care settings. Children’s National is ranked #5 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report and has 323 dedicated inpatient beds and a full array of specialists available 24 hours a day.
We prepare physicians for a career as excellent clinicians and leaders in acute care medicine.
Fellows achieve the goals and objectives of the program through:
- Caring for patients directly in emergency department and Fast Track settings
- Working alongside pediatric emergency medicine faculty and clinical pediatricians
- Supervising other trainees including residents, physician assistants and medical students
- Completing a comprehensive curriculum that includes conferences, didactics, courses, simulation sessions and workshops with a strong focus on academic excellence
Our program is GME supported. Our graduates pursue careers as clinicians in the Division of Emergency Medicine at Children’s National and other top ranking pediatric hospitals, as urgentologists, and as pediatric emergency medicine fellows.
